Join us, the Palestinian Feminist Collective, for this book talk with Dr. Ashjan Ajour to discuss her recent publication, Reclaiming Humanity in Palestinian Hunger Strikes: Revolutionary Subjectivity and Decolonizing the Body (2021). Dr. Ajour completed her PhD in Sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London and she is the 2022 Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Brown University. Her research interests and teaching experiences are situated in sociology, gender studies and feminist theories and movements; political subjectivity; incarceration; decolonization and global indigenous politics. Her other recent work includes an article “The Spiritualization of Politics and the Technologies of Resistant Body: Conceptualizing Hunger Striking Subjectivity”.

Join the Oregon to Palestine Coalition today, Friday, December 8 at 5:00PM PST for a Teach In on Palestine and a conversation on the importance of building international solidarity in our movements. We will be discussing the early historical events that led to the creation of the Zionist state as well as the legacies of Palestinian resistance and how to support the fight for Palestinian liberation from the belly of the beast. The Palestine 101 presentation will be followed up by a panel on the importance of Joint Struggle in the fight for Palestinian liberation. Panelists include Kent Ford, Marco Mejía, and a speaker from BAYAN Oregon.
